An HTM double major grants more exposure and connections by having additional professors and colleagues. It also opens up further opportunities by having extra qualifications and the extensive knowledge from two majors.

Having an HTM double major was crucial to receiving a job offer for my current role. For this role, it was important that I have experience in hospitality as well as finance because the role incorporates both. My dual degree gave me an advantage, and ultimately led me to getting the offer.

Graduating with both majors has benefited my career because I received a wider education in business than I would have with just the one major. I learned the knowledge and skills necessary for navigating a finance position that works with many hotels, and must understand and communicate with all of the departments within.

During my time at UMass, I attended the HTM Career Fair every year. These fairs were the perfect opportunity to get my name out there and become more comfortable in the job market. I obtained my current position through attending the fair during my senior year. Also while at UMass, I joined some of the HTM clubs, which allowed me to meet like-minded people and dive deeper into the industry. Putting myself out there and trying new experiences really helped make the most out of my time as a UMass HTM student.
