Study Abroad:

Did you know that more than 250 Isenberg students plan to study abroad in spring 2024? That’s our largest number yet! Students from ALL of our majors will be participating in study abroad this spring– that’s because there REALLY IS a program for everyone! As an Isenberg student, you have the opportunity to spend a semester, academic year, winter or summer term abroad while earning credits and taking relevant courses towards your graduation requirements.

Where do our students go, you might ask? This spring, Iseneberg students will head off to a diversity of countries, including: Argentina, Australia, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, and the United Kingdom. There are hundreds of programs around the world to choose from! Believe it or not, a semester abroad doesn’t have to cost more than a semester at UMass (in some cases, you may even spend less).

Are you interested in learning more about studying abroad as an Isenberg student? Here’s how:

● Visit Isenberg’s Study Abroad Resources and Events webpage
● Attend Isenberg’s Study Abroad Basics workshop on Tuesday, December 5, from 9-10 a.m. (via Zoom)
● Get the process started with the UMass Ed Abroad Office

Isenberg 4+1 Program:

Two Degrees. Five Years or Less.

Undergraduate students can pursue a Isenberg 4+1 program option in one of these areas: accounting, business analytics, or finance. The 4+1 option can also be accelerated and up to 12 graduate credits (4 courses) from a specialized master’s program can be taken while students complete their undergraduate degree, and depending on the program, up to 6 credits (2 courses) may be allowed to double-count for both the undergraduate degree and the graduate degree.

Isenberg Shout Outs:

Sarah Anzil: Anzil was shouted out by a fellow classmate who recognized Sarah’s professional and personal networking skills. “Sarah is awesome at meeting new people!” Keep up the networking, Sarah!

Jason Norman: Norman was shouted out by a faculty member, Laurie Salame. “Shout out to all the folks at TSS (Heather, Jacob, Dennis, and the front desk folks) but especially to Jason Norman. He has taken the time over the past couple of years to really help me out. He has bent over backwards trying to troubleshoot them, thinking of workarounds, and trying to make sure that I could do my job well. The entire TSS crew never seems frustrated when I present with yet another unique issue! Not only that, but yesterday Jason took time to sit with me and review a bunch of shortcuts that are going to save me keystrokes. At the end of the day, that’s going to save me pain! What really made that experience stand out is that he was just as happy about that as I was! That’s how much he cares about the work that he does. Isenberg is a family, I’m so glad he’s a part of it.”

Sarah, Jason & Laurie: Stop by the Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office to pick up your Isenberg Swag!

Ambassador Spotlights:

Megha Parikh

Hi! My name is Megha Parikh and I am a Junior Economics and Marketing Dual Degree candidate from Basking Ridge, New Jersey. I’m also in the Commonwealth Honors College pursuing a Psychology minor and the Business Analytics Certificate. Apart from being an Isenberg Student Ambassador for the Undergraduate Programs Office, I am also involved in a few clubs around Isenberg. I serve as the Vice President of Finance for Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, and a Co-Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Women of Isenberg Conference Planning Committee. Isenberg has truly given me so many opportunities to grow both personally and professionally, and allowed me the space to take part in everything I’m interested in! As someone who loves to travel, I can’t wait to study abroad in London next semester. Outside of school, I love spending time outdoors, especially going on hikes. I value quality time with my friends and family, and even though being out of state has been hard, the people here at UMass are some of the best people I’ve met. It feels like I've found my own community here within Isenberg and I genuinely can’t recommend it enough! Please feel free to reach out and connect with me!

Hey everyone! My name is Tess Luciano and I am a Junior Operations Information Management major from Foxborough, MA. Here at Isenberg, I am an active member of both Women in Business and OIM club, where I have been able to receive unique insights and exposure to career opportunities. I also hold a position as an Isenberg Ambassador in the Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office. Throughout my time as an Ambassador, I have had the opportunity to conduct tours and share my experience with prospective students to help answer questions about course curriculum, extracurricular activities, and career opportunities within Isenberg. In the following semester, I will be traveling abroad to Barcelona to expand my academic and cultural horizons. The decision to choose Isenberg was driven by numerous opportunities it presents. Whether interacting with faculty, staff, or fellow students, the support and sense of community within Isenberg are truly extraordinary and unparalleled. Outside of academia and work, I love being around friends and family, being outside and running. Isenberg has not only provided me with a top-notch education but has also shaped me into a well-rounded individual prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Please reach out if you want to learn more about Isenberg and my experience!
