Eduroam is the secure wireless access for the UMass campus. It is an encrypted, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. In order to connect to Eduroam, you will need to download and install software called XpressConnect on your self-managed computer or device. You will only have to set this up once, and you will automatically connect to wireless when you are on campus. Other campuses are also using Eduroam, so you might be able to connect to their wireless networks when you are visiting other schools.
Once the software has been installed, you will be prompted for your username. For the username, use NetID@umass.edu. For instance:
jsmith@umass.edu
Do not run the XpressConnect software on your managed Isenberg computer. If you have problems logging into Eduroam, try adding @umass.edu to your NetID. If that doesn't work, contact TSS.
Contact Lynda Vassallo in Room 228. Please return your old ink cartridge for recycling.
Fall 2023: All Online MBA courses will be taught using Canvas and we encourage the use of Canvas for all courses.
Spring 2024: All Isenberg undergraduate and graduate classes will be offered in Canvas by spring 2024.
For fall, winter or spring Canvas courses, choose from these 2 options:
- Concierge Migration: Most instructors have Blackboard content they want to use in Canvas. UMass will provide a concierge service to help migrate your course. The concierge migration service will copy your Blackboard course to Canvas and then will manually organize and fix any issues.
- For fall courses, you must fill out a Course migration request by Friday, June 16, 2023. Your course will then be ready on August 1st. If you miss the June 16 deadline the concierge service will NOT be available to you for fall.
- For spring courses, fill out the Course migration request by mid-December.
- For winter courses, we don’t have a deadline yet, but the sooner you fill out the Course migration request, the sooner your course will be ready.
- For fall courses, you must fill out a Course migration request by Friday, June 16, 2023. Your course will then be ready on August 1st. If you miss the June 16 deadline the concierge service will NOT be available to you for fall.
- Build a course with a blank course shell: If you are creating a new course or you want to build a course from scratch, request your Canvas course in Spire: Directions to request Canvas course shells.
Note: The IDEAS group does not recommend simple Content-Copy Migration without the concierge service for Isenberg courses, as some content does not copy over from Blackboard with this method.
