Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony
Friday, May 16, 2025
5 p.m.
McGuirk Alumni Stadium, UMass Amherst

The University Commencement is UMass Amherst’s official, large graduation ceremony. It is held outdoors, rain or shine, and includes graduates from all majors on campus. The university website posts information as it becomes available about planning your visit and information for seniors, such as how to get a cap and gown, how to arrange senior portraits, etc.

Isenberg Senior Celebration

Saturday, May 17, 2025
9-11:30 a.m.

Mullins Center, UMass Amherst

At this ceremony, Isenberg recognizes graduates from our 7 undergraduate departments and programs in a personalized way. Graduates receive a university commemorative medal and have their name announced as they cross the stage and are congratulated by college leaders. Each graduate’s time on stage is visible on jumbo video screens and captured by a professional photographer.

Visit the UStore in the North Lobby of the Mullins Center to purchase Isenberg Swag for your graduate!

Guests Details:

  • This is a ticketed event due to space limitations. Graduates must register by April 22nd following the detailed instructions they receive from the university. Graduates for our ceremony are allocated 4 guest tickets. Tickets will likely be distributed the week of Commencement.
  • Doors to the Mullins Center will open at 8 a.m. Guests should have their ticket ready and enter the Mullins Center via the north end of the building (across from the practice rink). You may select any seat in the arena. Graduates will be seated by major. More information regarding the graduate processional will be posted soon.
  • Traffic in and around campus will be heavy on Commencement weekend. Plan at least an hour of travel time once you arrive in the Amherst area. Additional time should be factored in if utilizing the shuttles. All traffic will follow the campus traffic pattern in place for Saturday.
  • All guests will be required to walk through metal detectors when entering the venue.  Small purses and diaper bags are allowed but will be inspected at all entrances. Plan Your Visit to Mullins Center.

Graduate Details

  • Graduates will need to register to attend commencement and senior celebration ceremonies via Tassel (formerly Marching Order). Graduates will be able to access their 4 allotted tickets for the Isenberg Senior Celebration when registering through Tassel. Registration details will be sent to graduates from Tassel soon. For now, graduates should verify or update their diploma name in Spire. This is the name that is printed on your diploma, listed in the Undergraduate Commencement program, and read as you walk across the stage at the Isenberg Senior Celebration.
  • Graduates will be able to select their allotted tickets when they register to attend the Isenberg Senior Celebration through the Tassel website. This is the only way a graduate can secure their 4 tickets for the Isenberg Senior Celebration. The Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office is offering a ticket waitlist. Any unclaimed tickets will be distributed as equitably as possible. Graduates can submit their additional ticket request here. ONLY graduates should submit a request for additional tickets and duplicate requests are discouraged. The Isenberg Undergraduate Programs Office will be notified of any unclaimed tickets at the end of April.
  • Graduates should arrive at the Mullins Center by 8 a.m. and proceed down the steps to the check-in tent in Lot 67. Graduates unable to access the steps can utilize the elevator in the Mullins Center. Graduates can also connect with UMass Transit regarding transportation options. Graduates with accessibility concerns or questions regarding the Mullins Center can contact Lyla Paine at lpaine@isenberg.umass.edu.
  • All graduates will be required to walk through metal detectors when entering the venue. Graduates should not bring backpacks or large bags as they will not be allowed into the venue.
