Our completion program is designed to be part-time for people who work or have family or other commitments that makes it difficult to attend full-time on the Amherst campus.

To keep costs down, online students are not charged the campus activities fee, therefore a variety of on-campus services that are free for on-campus students are not available to online students. Among these services not included are athletic and fine arts events and the use of UMass recreational facilities.

While the actual bachelor’s degree earned is the same whether completed on-campus or online, not all majors, concentrations, certificates, minors, or courses are offered online. Nor does Commonwealth honors have an online option.

Depending on your major, course path and transfer credits, you may be able to finish full time. A preliminary review will help you know if this is an option.

We keep an open mind when reviewing applications because we know life isn’t formula-driven. We not only want to make sure that you’re the right fit for our programs, but that we’re the right fit for you. A successful student is motivated, has good time management skills and works well independently, as well as in groups. 

Our advisors can evaluate your unofficial transcripts to give you an idea of which courses will likely transfer and what requirements you still would need to fulfill. The preliminary transcript review does not guarantee admission.
