The main thing on Jennifer Welsh’s mind as she decided to go back to school: affordability. She needed a program that would give her the best return on her investment. She found her match in Isenberg’s online degree completion program.
“Isenberg was probably one of the best financial decisions,” she says. “It was the fraction of the cost of the other schools. The school is supposed to help you get ahead in life, not load you down with a huge amount of student loans.”
Jennifer, a management major, earned her associate’s degree before joining the workforce as a holographic technologist. The job encompassed her engineering background, but she wanted to expand her knowledge and expertise.
“Along the way, I realized I liked the management aspect of running a business,” she says. “I knew that having at bachelor’s degree would give me the leg up that I needed.”
Besides the flexibility of the program, Jennifer says she’s enjoying the community she’s found online.
“The resource center online encourages Isenberg students to talk to each other even though we’re miles apart,” she says.
And she’s already using knowledge she’s learned in her classes—like her business information systems class, which teaches students how to use software in business settings.
With graduation just a few years away, Jennifer is also already honing her management philosophy: “Employees are the greatest asset that a company has,” she says.
