Remote Desktop Requires VPN

In response to an acute security issue, the campus is now blocking Windows Remote desktop connections from off-campus.

If you use Remote Desktop to connect to a computer on-campus from an unmanaged computer that is off-campus, you’ll need to first connect to our VPN. Managed computers that are off-campus connecting back to campus are not affected as they automatically start the VPN in the background.
