In October, the Isenberg Real Estate Fund (IREF) hosted members of PepsiCo’s Global Real Estate team for an insightful event on the ever-evolving real estate industry. The event, titled The Future of Global Real Estate, featured three distinguished speakers: alumnus Matthew Babyak ’21, global head of integration and enablement; Erica Wagner, senior vice president and member of the Isenberg Real Estate Advisory Board; and Kacie McCarthy, director of business intelligence and analytics. Their discussions drew a large and engaged audience, including students, faculty, and real estate professionals, eager to learn from their expertise.
The evening’s program focused on three critical areas shaping the industry today: innovative portfolio management and optimization strategies, the integration of artificial intelligence into real estate operations, and the transformation of organizational structures to meet modern challenges. These topics underscored the industry’s rapid evolution and the need for adaptable, forward-thinking leadership. An interactive Q&A session allowed attendees to gain deeper insights, as the PepsiCo team addressed questions ranging from sustainability practices to navigating global market complexities.
The event was organized by the IREF, which is a student-run commercial real estate investment group, with coordination assistance from Jeffrey Clark, Isenberg’s David Gaunt Faculty Fellow in Real Estate and academic program director for the school’s master of finance program.
