One reason that I appreciate my new position as the associate chair of the Operations and Information Management Department is because we have incredible faculty and superb students. I never tire of hearing an OIM student rave about an OIM professor or an OIM professor commend an OIM student. This symbiotic relationship has led to positive results, as evidenced by the numbers.

In 2022, our OIM students' success started in the classroom, where almost a third of our OIM faculty received teaching awards for excellence. Faculty's commitment and the students' hard work resulted in jobs for 96 percent of OIM graduates within six months of graduation. Not only were OIM students in high demand, but they were aptly rewarded with an average median salary of $71,750. After hiring OIM graduates, companies like PWC, Fidelity, Bose, and Dell Technologies eagerly returned to campus to recruit more OIM graduates. Our students were often faced with the fortunate problem of deciding which job offer to accept. This upward trajectory of the OIM department and the successes of our graduates is simply exciting! I, for one, am ready for the ride.
