In this presentation an overview of greening of supply chains is presented. Greening and sustainability issues associated with supply chain management are the fastest growing research areas within the operations and supply chain management field. A brief history and need for research and practice in this area is initially introduced. Various research topics, managerial concerns, and potential corporate initiatives are summarized. Using a multilevel perspective, where the boundary of the decision and issue can be tight or broad, green supply chain topics focused on supplier collaboration and development are introduced. Emergent practices, tools, and theories are also briefly discussed.
