The University of Massachusetts Innovation Challenge Semi-Final Competition is the third session in the 2016-17 Innovation Challenge series. The Semi-Final is a closed door event during which teams will have 15 minutes to pitch in front of a panel of judges. Use this time to explain your startup, who is involved, and what is next for your team. Why do you need funding and how will you use it? Judges will then decide if the idea is feasible, and whether or not your team is eligible to move on to the Final Competition on April 6th, where up to $65K will be awarded.
Involvement with earlier Innovation Challenge competitions this academic year is not required for application to the Semi-Final.
Who should apply?
University of Massachusetts students and recent alumni from every discipline and stage of career. Undergraduates, graduates, and post-docs are all encouraged to compete.
Application instructions:
Teams must submit a two-page executive summary of their startup describing work on their venture to date, next steps and funding needs. Teams must also fill out and submit a Business Model Canvas with their application.
