Isenberg alumni have been out and about, making an impact with their careers and passion projectsand it shows! Most of these updates have been submitted by alumni about themselves, but we also welcome submissions from organizations and friends who have news about people in our community.

Mary Anne Smrz
Mary Anne Smrz '80 MS: As an avid kayaker, I have spent many years since my graduation from UMass kayaking and facilitating kayaking retreats. In addition, I have written four books called my Reflections from the Red Kayak series. The books are a collection of insights relating experiences of kayaking and elements of nature to life. My latest book, Paddlin' with Thoreau, was published last year and I am excited to be presenting selections from my book at the Annual Gathering of the Thoreau Society in Concord from July 10-14 this year. The Thoreau Society has members in all 50 states and 20 countries, so it is a wonderful opportunity. For more details you can visit my website.

Jeff Bardon '04 MBA: I joined the CVS Health supply chain team in October of 2019 as the Senior Director of Industrial Engineering. In September of 2022, I moved into my current role of Executive Director, Network Capacity, Planning & Design.
Fred Mitzner

Fred Mitzner '86, Senior Vice President of Conference Direct (and an HTM alumnus and HTM Leadership Board member), was just recognized as the top associate at his company's Annual Meeting for the 7th time.

 

Hannah Greenland
Hannah Greenland '18 was featured in an article about her success in the "club management" field and the joy she has had for her experiences. Hannah is Director of Dining Operations at Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton, FL. She has been promoted three times in her career since starting at the IBIS Club and HOA in Florida and enjoys the work culture and alumni presence in South Florida area of Palm Beach and Boca Raton. Ben Sokol '02 was recently promoted to Vice President Financial Consultant at Fidelity Investments and is continuing to empower families in Westchester County, New York, to make smart financial decisions so that they can retire with confidence.

Paul Melican '89: I've recently accepted a position with the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Inspector General. I'll be conducting COVID-19 fraud investigations. My accounting degree will be put to use on a daily basis.

Ordinary to Extraordinary

Dr. Gary Josephson ‘10 MBA released his book Ordinary to Extraordinary in August 2022. Published by Morgan James Publishing, the pediatric otolaryngologist’s book is an insightful piece which seeks to inspire everyone to reach their physical, mental, and spiritual goals.
