What to expect:
View the event page here.
The Capsim Strategy Simulation Competition, hosted by the Isenberg Management Association, is open to all Isenberg students to help familiarize them with Capsim, the computer simulation of business strategy, which is used in Isenberg’s Capstone strategy class taken by Isenberg seniors.
Competitors in The Capsim Competition will use Capsim to make strategic decisions for their company and compete to gain customers, keep up with production, and maximize returns. Competitors will get access to the Capsim simulation prior to the event. We will hold information sessions prior to the competition to familiarize students with the simulation. During the competition, each team goes through five rounds of the simulation over the course of the day. After each of the first three rounds, faculty, alumni, and select students will debrief the teams and provide coaching. Awards will be given for top teams based on the results of the Capsim simulation, as well as division awards for Management 494BI students and based on graduation year.
This event is open to all Isenberg students. First and Second year students are encouraged to apply, but all Isenberg students are welcome!
Target deadline for applications is Monday, April 22, 2024, by 5 pm. Register yourself or your team to compete at the competitor registration below.
You will be working in teams of 4 or 5 students. If you apply as an individual, you will be placed with team members. Alternatively, a group can apply as a team in a single registration. Students may be added to teams to achieve parity in team size.
Send any questions to the Management Department’s Associate Chair, Jennifer Merton, at jfmerton@isenberg.umass.edu.
