Black History Month Guest Lecturer - Dr. Anthony C. Hood

Dr. Anthony C. Hood serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Access Officer for First Horizon Bank. He previously served as the Director of Civic Innovation in the Office of the President at UAB as well as a Tenured Associate Professor of Management in the Collat School of Business at UAB.

Sponsored by DEIB and members of the Management Department, this research colloquium/lunch provide our doctoral students and in-house faculty members a platform to discuss their up-to-date research ideas and projects, an opportunity to seek comments and suggestions from colleagues, and a way of identifying potential cross-disciplinary collaboration opportunities. The research work can be at all stages, and faculty members at all ranks are welcome to present.

In commemoration of Black History Month at Isenberg, Dr. Hood will give an hour-long lecture to discuss his career journey and how uplifting and supporting our marginalized communities can inspire and reflect on where we are now, and where we aspire to be in the future.

In commemoration of Black History Month at Isenberg, Dr. Hood will give an hour-long lecture to discuss lessons learned from a career that has spanned being an entrepreneur, engineer, business school professor, and banking executive.  He will also discuss the importance of servant leadership for career success.
