ALPFA UMass Amherst’s Second Annual Conference - Advancing Latinx Student Leaders - is a week-long hybrid event reinforcing Latinx students across UMass Amherst’s schools and colleges to build a new wave of rising prosperity and confidence within the Latinx community.
It is imperative that we facilitate supportive communities where both personal and academic resources and opportunities become more accessible. Our goal with this conference is to advance our academic and professional careers through different speaker sessions and networking events.
At ALPFA, our mission is to empower and develop Latinxs as leaders of character in every sector of the global economy. At a student chapter level, we aim to carry out the same mission and build a strong community for fellow Latinx students to thrive in. In this conference, attendees will be exposed to the growing ALPFamilia and the power of our national network.
Sessions are as follows:
Monday: Being You in Corporate America, featuring representatives from our corporate sponsors; EY, KPMG, and Oracle
Tuesday: Intersectionality and Identity, featuring 3-5 UMass Amherst students
Wednesday: Your Journey in the Health Field, featuring 3 health professionals.
Thursday: Alumni Networking Panel, featuring 3-5 UMass Amherst Alumni from varying industries.
